Beware of the $99 Wedding Gown Preservation

There are companies that charge as little as $99 to clean and preserve wedding gowns. But you should be aware that these gowns are usually cleaned in bulk, as many as 30 gowns at once with little or no attention given to pre-treating or spotting. The dirt from other gowns may contaminate your gown. And because the gown is sealed in a small box, you may never know if the gown was cleaned at all. The quality of the box may also be questionable. Is it truly made of a solid acid-free and lignin free board?

Affordable Quality Cleaning and Preservation

At Heritage Garment Preservation, we offer Tender Loving Care for your gown for a reasonable amount. Most dresses range between $350 to $480 depending on fabric content, train length, stains, hem condition, etc. If your gown is extremely valuable, delicate, needs extensive repairs or restoration, the costs may exceed our averages. But rest assured it will receive the care it deserves.

We go over your gown with a fine tooth comb, checking for and removing stains. Your gown will be wet-cleaned by hand or dry-cleaned in virgin solvent depending on the fabric and trims. Afterwards, it will be hand pressed for the best finish and carefully preserved with either our superior Museum Method or our excellent Boxed preservation. You choose!
