Museum quality Boxed Preservation Kits
We offer both buffered and unbuffered textile preservation kits.
Our buffered textile preservation boxes are for preserving most fabrics, including cotton, linen, polyester and other synthetics.
Our boxes are made from fiberboard that is lignin and sulfur free throughout (not coated)and conforms to ANSI Standard IT0.2. The material has a minimum pH of 8.5 and a 3% calcium carbonate buffer. TAPPI accelerated aging tests show that our board will prevent acid migration for up to 5 centuries!
Our boxes are available in both tan and gray and come with 20 sheets of 20" x 30" acid-free tissue.
Unbuffered Textile Preservation Kits
Buffering agents in buffered preservation boxes can damage fabrics made from animal proteins such as silk and wool. Therefore, we also offer an unbuffered box for these fabrics. It is made of inert, 4mm corrugated polypropylene, and will protect your silk, wool or fur garments better than other type of boxes.
