Wedding Dress is Love at First Sight for Erica

A Wedding Dress Story By Erica White This wedding gown was worn by Erica White when she married Anthony Layton in Detroit, Michigan on October 1 2017. The gown was purchased at Bridal Solutions in Kansas city Missouri (where the bride lives). Since we were planning a wedding in Michigan I had already made plans to shop for my dress back in my home state of Michigan when I went home for Thanksgiving. I had already made appoints at Michigan bridal salons with my mom, aunt and two sisters. However I went to a Kansas city Area bridal show and picked up a flyer for a Bridal Solutions in Kansas...

Got Silk? Save $25 on Non-Silk Fabrics

This month Save $25 if your gown is synthetic (not silk!). Our discount is good for both Heritage Select™ and Heritage Couture™ wedding gown care. Just use coupon code: NotSilk for $25 off! (Minimum purchase of $298) What fabric is your wedding dress made of?  If you answer satin, you are actually identifying the fabric weave and finish of your dress fabric but not the fabric fiber itself. It’s a common mistake that we see all the time.  Actually there are polyester satins, acetate satins, and of course, silk satins.  If you aren’t sure, check your gown care...

A Wedding Dress Story Heritage Garment Preservation provides professional wedding dress restoration for heirloom wedding gowns. This is a service that is always exciting and sentimental. Each wedding gown we restore has it’s own story and is a cherished family memento. This wedding dress may soon be worn for the third time. The first time it was worn was in 1952 by Amy’s mother in Emporia, KS. She does not recall where the dress was purchased, but remembered it was from a shop in the Kansas City, Missouri, area that is no longer in business. Amy’s mother also recalled that...

The Perfect Malibu Wedding Dress

A Wedding Dress Story By Diane S. I purchased this gown at L’elite Bridal on Newbury Street in Boston. My wedding and reception were at Rancho del Cielo in Malibu. I went into the appointment with another gown from the website for L’elite Bridal in mind, but ended up falling in love with my dress immediately. Our wedding venue is essentially an intimate garden overlooking the ocean (best of both worlds, and reflective of Malibu in a really lovely way), and I thought that this dress was perfect for it. I couldn’t have asked for better weather on the day of the wedding. We...

Treasured Heirloom Uniform Preserved

Heirloom Uniform Preservation Story By Kirk Harrington This old Knoxville Railway and Light Company Uniform was worn by my great, great, grandfather, Henry Dallas Harrington in 1915. He died of pneumonia while running a streetcar on 6th Avenue in 1915. Mr. Henry Harrington’s Daughter in Law Mrs. W.W. Harrington called the Knoxville Transit Lines Transportation Department and “said she had found the uniform while cleaning up the attic at her home.” My grandfather, John E. Harrington passed this on to my father, John R. Harrington. After my father died, he passed it onto...

Jen’s Not Too Poofy Perfect Wedding Gown

Jen Backer’s Wedding Dress Story This dress was worn by Jen Backer when she married Jeff the first time on April 6th and the dress she will wear again when she marries him a second time on June 16th. (Why two weddings? The bride and groom live in Arizona; their families and friends live in Wisconsin.) Jen never dreamed about her wedding day, so when it came time to go dress shopping, she was clueless but she knew she didn’t want big and “poofy”. As Jen perused the store – Brilliant Bridal in Mesa, Arizona – the dresses looked too poofy, even though they...

Nikki Mark Zunino Sample Wedding Dress a Perfect Fit

A Wedding Dress Story By Nikki Cole Nikki met Joan Roberts, who was the Director of Sales at Kleinfelds in New York City at a wedding in 2011. Nikki and then boyfriend, Jason had a great visit with Joan and her husband and Joan encouraged Nikki to give her a call when she got engaged as she would love to help her select a wedding gown. It was several years later (2014) when Nikki got engaged. She doubted Joan would remember her so she went on her own to the Kleinfeld Bridal store in New York City. But Joan did remember her and gave her a big hug when she saw her and then gave her the royal...

Jessica Wears Timeless Galia Lahav Wedding Dress

A Wedding Dress Story By Jessica Jonas My dress is Galia Lahav and part of the GALA Collection. It was purchased at Boca Raton Bridal in Boca Raton, FL. They created a custom under layer for the skirt so that it was lined from the knees down and so that all of the lining matched. It was worn for my wedding on October 21st, 2017 at Up the Creek Farms in Grant, FL for an outdoor ceremony under the oaks and a reception in the boathouse on their property. My photographer, Kati Rosado Photography, really captured every detail of my day and my gown in the most beautiful way. Overall, what I loved...
