A Wedding Dress Cleaning

Deborah’s Anjolique wedding gown is stunning. With 3-D flowers on the front with appliques of crystals and a satin belt, this gown is lovely. Malfroy tulle creates a layered look on the skirt and beads line the edges of this gown.

Like many gowns after a festive wedding day, when we received the gown, there was make-up and perspiration inside the bodice and under the arms. There was also a red wine stain on the front of the skirt. The hemlines were dirty and some of the tulle had been damaged from being dragged on weeds.

We gave this dress the royal treatment by hand cleaning it using the silk wet care process. We then spot cleaned the veil and hand pressed the gown and veil. Finally, we preserved the gown using our Museum Method Preservation.

Deborah will be able to treasure her preserved wedding gown in years to come!
