  1. Lynne Says:

Why do I need to wash the cotton garment bag before I put my dress in it?

  2. Kathy Wright Says:

The cotton bag has sizing on it. Sizing is usually cellulose based substance which can attract mice and insects. So washing the bag helps to protect the garment inside from little creatures. Hope that is helpful.

Can you turn an ivory wedding veil to white?

  4. Kathy Wright Says:

If the veil is ivory because it has yellowed due to age, we may be able to return the veil to it’s original color, or close to it. However, if it was not white to begin with, then it is more difficult. It would depend on the fiber contents of the veil pieces, such as the tulle, laces and headpiece and whether they could be whitened. If the headpiece can be whitened, but the tulle cannot, you may be able to replace the ivory tulle with white (or candlelight) tulle. Tulle is usually nylon which does not whiten well. It would definitely be quite a project.
